Firstly Exceeding USD 2000 Billions in Import & Export
Total Amount
Data from the General Administration of Customs indicates
that China¡¯s total amount of import & export exceeded
USD 2000 billion for the first time in 2007 which was USD
2173.8 billion. The EU became China’s largest trading partner,
and the bilateral trading amount was USD 356.15 billion which
has increased by 27%; the surplus of foreign trade amount
was USD 262.2 billion, and the amount of import & export
in common trading was USD 967.22 billion which has increased
by 29.1%. The amount of import & export in processing
trading for the whole year is USD 986.05 billion which has
increased by 18.5%.
Sino-New Zealafd Free Trading Agreement
under Subscribing
Press speaker Wang Xinpei from Ministry of Commerce of PRC
revealed that after 15 circles of negotiation between China
and New Zealand, substantial questions in relation to the
Bilateral Free Trading Zone Negotiation have been agreed from
both sides. Both sides are checking and ratifying the protocol
documents for final, and it is hoped that this Free Trading
Agreement will be subscribed in April after each fulfils its
examining and approving.
The Sino-New Zealand Free Trading Zone will cover many areas
like goods trade, service trade, and investment trade and
so on. It will do much favor for advancing the economic development
in and between both countries.
United States Customs Issued the "10 +2" New
Requirements
To identify and assess high-risk cargo, for the prevention
of terrorist weapons and materials into the United States,
the Customs and Excise Department released a new program on
the report of information: in the container shipping companies
to be imported to the United States 48 hours before loading
plans to provide the list, and each set out clearly container
accommodation in the location, as well as the status of the
container carrier instant messaging. Also must submit a total
of 10 information, including the name and address of manufacturer,
seller (owner), the buyer (owner), and the destination, address
of packing, crating and name address, the country of export,
tariff table number and so on.
New Version of Classifying Measure
in Managing Enterprise of Customs of PRC Coming on
New emendatory "Classifying Administrative Measure of
Customs of PRC" by General Administration of Customs
of PRC will be put in force on April 1st. Customs will manage
companies by taking their credit records into account and
proposing to abide by law.
New "Measure" adds AA category on the basis of ABCD
management categories. Customs declaration advantage measure
is applicable to both enterprises of AA and A category; General
management measure is applicable to B category; and strict
supervising measure is applicable to C& D category. Enterprises
applying for customs have been added to the scope of new "Measure"
based on the consignee/consigner for importing & exporting
goods.
Shenzhen Port's Strongest Comprehensive
Competitiveness
"2007 China port comprehensive competitiveness index
list" changed "throughput" to "throughput
growth rate", which made Shanghai not leading position
any more. Shenzhen Port with total score of 272.79, the container
throughput growth of 13.70%, growth in cargo throughput of
13.65%, deworfed other ports such as Shanghai, Hong Kong ,Guangzhou,
Qingdao Port, Tianjin port, the Zhoushan port in Ningbo, Xiamen
Port, Yingkou Port, Lianyungang port, Dalian Port.
Shenzhen port also took the lead to put forward the ecological
protection indicators of "energy conservation and control
emissions," so it was granted as 2007 China's most efficient
port.
