To meet the demand
of business development and service system upgrading, the
Sea Dept. in Hong Kong HQ made a personnel adjustment in early
April, aiming to advance the department's development in a
more efficient and all-around way.
The main adjustment is to promote some senior and experienced
colleagues from shipping supervisors to line managers. They
will gather and manage other colleagues as a team, develop
and expand their appointed lines together. There are five
teams as follows:
£¨1£©Europe£¨Ms. Candy Chiang£©
In charge of European continent, main target areas are EU
countries.
£¨2£©Mediterranean£¨Mr. Yan Poon£©
Taking Italy, Spain & Turkey as the chief part, meanwhile
expanding to other Mediterranean regions or countries.
£¨3£©Australia & New Zealand£¨Ms. Bondy Ng£©
Developing shipments to base ports of Aus. & N.Z., as
well as other pacific countries.
£¨4£©USA & Canada£¨New blood: Mr. Lurk Cheung, acting line
manager£©
Focusing on the whole North America.
£¨5£©Import & Re-export£¨Ms. Annie Leung£©
Taking care of all the import shipments, and arrange all the
re-export shipments in/out inland points of China.
All the newly-promoted line managers have worked in this field
for more than ten years, they are very experienced and energetic,
so certainly they can take good care of their own lines, and
complete daily management of documents and operations well.
The adjustment makes the whole Sea Dept. operate with separate
teams in which the colleagues can work together, coordinate
& help each other, thus improves the past situation of
working alone. The line managers can communicate with their
term members or upper management about issues of business
development, rates, marketing or operation. They can also
put up their suggestions to all the branches in mainland China
and share their skills with the branches. Moreover, the top
management can also participate in the management more directly
and effectively, which is very helpful to improve the service
level of all the lines.
In addition, the principle of this adjustment is focusing
on promotion of colleagues from the inside of the group. This
will encourage other colleagues to keep improving themselves
actively, by this means, both the competence and morale of
our colleagues will be enhanced. At the same time, our colleagues?sense
of belonging to the company will be fostered.
As the general manager in PRC, my primary task is to integrate
all the branches to hold them together and coordinate with
the regional offices systematically, in the hope of pushing
forward the development of the whole group. We all know that
it's harmful to the benefits of the whole group if all the
branches only care about their own interests. Meantime, I
will also, immediately, spread the project of direct consolidation
to all the main branches, like Shanghai, Tianjin, Qingdao,
Ningbo, Guangzhou, Xiamen and etc.
In terms of the expansion of overseas agents, we have already
reached some preliminary agreements with some agents who are
planning to explore and develop their market in China. We
will try to develop FCL and LCL service with them together.
Al-Wallan Logistics from Saudi Arabian, one of the successful
cases, has already consigned some shipments to several of
our branches, so I am very optimistic about the future cooperation
between us. Besides, our new agent in Germany---Transmaritime
International also made a good performance and helped us a
lot in promoting our market share in the market of Germany.
Hope we can make strenuous efforts together, and strive for
our common success!
