On 12th May, 2008, an 8-scale earthquake hit WenChuan, Sichuan Province heavily & suddenly, and it brought enormous destructions to Wenchuan and also big damages to Chongqing,Gansu, Shanxi, Shanxi, Yunnan, Hubei and Hunan.
The earthquake caused heavy casualties & huge economic loss. Many cities and towns were ruined, millions of people lost their homes. People are deeply suffering from power and communications cut, road block, bad weather and environment. Rescue efforts continue to be a great difficulty. Reading the pictures from the disaster area, we seem to feel the weak breath under the ruins. At the rising up death toll and victims still not be found, we are all in a deep sorrow and sadness.
The whole Rockwood personnel cares very much about the disaster. Funds are raised in the whole Group rapidely, everybody spontaneously involved. We forward our donations through the Red Cross, as well as our love and blessing. Many colleagues manifest their sorrow for the victims, blessing and support for the survivors in words in the our website.
We believe at the same time that our unity and hard work will be the most solid and best aid to the quake area and our country.
